Application Process

The Meridian College of London (TMCOL) has an easy and robust admission procedure. TMCOL will follow the single window approach which means that the staff from the admissions department will deal with the student one on one and will give the equal importance to all the students. Every staff of TMCOL from admissions department will abide by to the following steps before taking the decision on providing the admission to any student.

Step 1: The prospective student should complete the application form which is available from the College, College website or can order a prospectus with which the application form is also sent to the student. The student should check it carefully and forward the same to the college either by post, fax or email with the help of the information mentioned on the form along with the photocopies of relevant educational certificates.

Step 2: Student interview is a vital part of our admissions procedure. After receiving the application form with the educational certificates, the member from the admissions department makes an arrangement for the student interview/counselling. If the application was made by a local student, an appointment would be made with the student and the student would be called for counselling in the College. If the application was made by an overseas student, the staff would do the counselling over the phone, skype and emails.

The motive behind this step is to extract maximum information about the student academically and financially, and to find out the student’s motive over coming to UK and the College. This will help the College to make a tangible decision on providing the admission to the student.

Eligibility Criteria:

The minimum age requirement would be 18 years of age.

Normally for entry into an undergraduate course, one should have completed GCSE ‘A’ levels or equivalent and for a postgraduate course a bachelor’s degree in the relevant branch of study. The specific entry requirements for any course are given in the respective section for that course.

Apart from the above mentioned standard entry requirements, English Language competency judged sufficient to undertake advanced level study, equivalent to an IELTS score of at least 5.5.

Applications should note that possession of the minimum entry criteria does not itself guarantee admission. If you have any questions about the acceptability of your qualifications or your eligibility to a given course, please contact the Admissions Office covering your area of academic interest, providing as much information as possible, including photocopies of all the certificates and transcripts and translations if applicable.

Step 3: If your application is successful the College will send you a Offer Letter (Conditional) confirming your acceptance for the course and itemising the cost of tuition fees and living expenses. Please note that the quotation for living expenses is a recommendation only and is intended as an appropriate cost of living guide. Students who stay with friends or relatives can often live comfortably on much less.

Step 4: Once you have received your Offer Letter you can start making arrangements for your tuition fees to be sent to the College. A minimum initial deposit of 60% of the first year course fee is required to pay and the remaining fee can be paid in due course. If you are paying your fees from overseas you should ask your bank to issue a Banker's Draft made payable to ‘The Meridian College of London’ which you should send to us by courier or registered post. If your fees are to be paid by a sponsor in the United Kingdom you should ask your sponsor to telephone the College to arrange an appointment to meet the Admission Team. The payments can also be made in our favour directly into our bank account by forwarding us a copy of the receipt of the payment via fax, scan, post or email, confirming the date of payment, address and the sort code of the relevant bank from which the deposit was transferred into our account, the value of the payment.

Step 5: When your tuition fees have been paid, the College will send you your Visa Application Document (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), which you will be required to present to the British High Commission to acquire VISA if necessary. Applicants should note that while courses are updated periodically, some revision might be made, either as a result of academic development or of external constraints.
